Clip #1: Kiyoshi and the Pudding Dog
Shibas are intelligent dogs, and the following
video clip demonstrates their ability to figure out the right action
in order to elicit the desired response.
In this video, Kiyoshi is presented with a stuffed animal, Purin,
for the first time. Purin is also known as "Pudding Dog" and is a
character of Sanrio, the creator of Hello Kitty (see www.sanrio.com).
This particular Purin has a built-in battery-powered vibrator and
speaker. When the stuffed animal's left paw is pressed, the toy
vibrates and starts singing a short song. Although Kiyoshi has never
seen this toy before, he knows (from experience) that toys of this
size and color often sing and vibrate if pressed in the correct
spot. He just doesn't know where that spot is for this particular
toy. Through trial and error, you'll see him figure it out in about 4
minutes.
Note: Sound support is required; if you watch the clip without sound, you
won't know when Kiyoshi successfully activates the toy.

Clip #2: Ownership and Mounting Display
This clip shows Kiyoshi busily mounting his newly acquired stuffed
animal. He only exhibits this behavior when you try to take away the
toy - he is making sure that everyone knows that he considers this
toy HIS. This was not a case of excessive hormones, or so I don't think :-)
